Afghan women and girls face systemic exclusion from education, work, and public life in Afghanistan’s current context. HeStandsWithHer is an initiative started by Aziza Akrami, the 2025 Afghan Youth Representative to the United Nations, to mobilize support for their rights. This campaign calls on all people, especially men and boys (brothers, fathers, friends, leaders) and religious leaders,  to stand in solidarity with women and girls and help drive societal change.

Why It Matters?

    Raising Awareness of Gender Inequality sustainable progress requires everyone’s participation, especially young men and boys.

    Challenging Social Norms and Engagement We aim to challenge patriarchal norms that limit Afghan women’s freedom, education, and participation in public life.

    Amplifying Youth Voices Globally Campaign outputs (e.g., videos, social content) extend beyond Afghanistan to global policy audiences, strengthening international solidarity and advocacy.
